09.27Sophia Young’s Buzzer Beater Wins Game 2 for Silver Stars
Young’s 14-ft turnaround jumper at the buzzer lifted the Silver Stars to 67-66 win over the Los Angeles Sparks and forced a decisive game 3 for the Western Conference championship and the advancement to the WNBA Finals.
There was no question in Coach Hughes’ mind of who would be taking that do-or-die shot; Sophia Young.
“She’s just a player you can get a lot from in those situations,” Hughes said. “It’s not about the play, it’s about the player.”
